6. IS YOUR INFORMATION TRANSFERRED INTERNATIONALLY?
In Short: We may transfer, store, and process your information in countries other than your own.
Our servers are located in Sweden and United States. Regardless of your location, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored by, and processed by us in our facilities and in the facilities of the third parties with whom we may share your personal information (see 'WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?' above), including facilities in Sweden, United States, and other countries.
If you are a resident in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland, then these countries may not necessarily have data protection laws or other similar laws as comprehensive as those in your country. However, we will take all necessary measures to protect your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Notice and applicable law.
European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses:
We have implemented measures to protect your personal information, including by using the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of personal information between our group companies and between us and our third-party providers. We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this notice. Place names and map coordinates sent to fetch weather, destination photos, place search results and destination information are cached for no more than 24 hours and then discarded. Server and sign-in logs, which include IP addresses and your app's anonymous identifier, are kept by our hosting providers (Cloudflare and Supabase) for no more than 7 days and then deleted automatically, and rate-limiting data is held in memory for a few minutes only. The anonymous account created when you first use the app is kept until you ask us to delete it. If you contact us for support or about your privacy, we keep that correspondence for up to 12 months after the conversation ends, unless we need it for longer for legal reasons. Your trips, events, attachments and photos are stored only on your device and are never held by us; they remain there until you delete them or the app.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymise such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
8. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organisational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organisational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorised third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
9. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age, nor do we knowingly sell such personal information. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under age 18, please contact us at privacy@planventure.co.uk.

11. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ('DNT') feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognising and implementing DNT signals has been finalised. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.
12. DATA STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
Planventure is designed to keep your travel plans on your device. Your trips, events, notes, links, attachments and any photos you choose or find in your photo library are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers. Deleting the app removes this data. If you share a trip, the file is created on your device and sent only to the people you choose, through your device's share sheet.
To show weather forecasts, destination photos, place search and destination information, the app sends the names and coordinates of your trip destinations to our server, which requests that information from Apple WeatherKit, Unsplash, GeoNames and Wikipedia on your behalf. These providers do not receive your IP address or any information that identifies you. On iOS, weather may also be requested directly from Apple using Apple's WeatherKit service.
Optional AI summaries of destinations are generated on your device using Apple Intelligence and are turned off by default. You can turn them on or off at any time in Settings. Event reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device; we do not use push notification servers. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
13. DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE?
In Short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated 'Revised' date at the top of this Privacy Notice. If we make material changes to this Privacy Notice, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification. We encourage you to review this Privacy Notice frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your information.
